For many of you, when you recall your time here or think about EEOB, your thoughts naturally turn to classes and tests and the many friendships you made. Others among you might think more about the field or laboratory research you conducted while at ISU, or about the tremendously exciting research the EEOB faculty and students are involved in today. Please enjoy this latest issue of BioSpheres. Inside this issue are interesting stories about our students, faculty and alumni and their many good works. In keeping with the theme of broader service and outreach, you also will find an article about the innovative program developed by Dr. Adah Leshem-Ackerman, where K-12 students and high school teachers are matched with faculty mentors and given the opportunity to learn about research and actually gain genuine research experience. As you will undoubtedly realize when you explore our website or read our newsletters, the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology at ISU is a thriving community of scholars and educators where world-class research is being conducted and where students are provided a first-rate education. There are many ways in which you can “bet on this winning ticket”, and toward this end you will find a pdf form to the left for your use in assisting EEOB with its growth. Thank you in advance for your consideration of supporting our activities.
