I recently stepped down as the Chair of the Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Many of my graduate students are enrolled in this program. Within the College of Agriculture, the Graduate College, and the University I have served on committees on Academic Advising, Promotion and Tenure, Undergraduate Curriculum, Graduate Curriculum, and Computer Technology.

Professionally, I am active in The Wildlife Society. I have served a term as Associate Editor of the Journal of Wildlife Management, as Chair or Committee Member for the Program at three of the first four TWS Annual Meetings, and I have served terms on the Publications, and Awards committees. I am past-president of the Iowa Chapter of TWS. I am also active in the Ecological Society of America, the American Society of Mammalogists, and the Iowa Academy of Science.
