My lab seeks to understand the evolution of life-history strategies by integrating field observation and experimentation with genetic and physiological experiments. Our main goals are to test hypotheses on the roles of (i) physiological plasticity in stress-response phenotypes (ii) the evolutionary dynamics of loci involved in stress responses in mediating the evolution of age-specific vital rates among populations and among species. Our models include reptiles and primates.
