Avena sativa

Avena sativa (cultivated oats) is the same species that is grown for food. This cultivar has been selected for ornamental use. It is an annual grass, very easily grown from seed. Probably the best use for this grass is in fresh and dried arrangements, as it flowers and dies back relatively early in the summer. 'Forest Bouquet' is a cultivar selected for attractive flowers.
