EEOB graduate received Fondecyt grant

EEOB Ph.D. graduate, Andres Fuentes-Ramirez, has received Fondecyt funding for research on the ecological impact of using forest fires in the China Muerta National Reserve.  The main goal of this research is to evaluate the impact of fire on the plant community (both native and exotic species) and on the soil nutrients within burned areas of the CMNR.

Fuentes-Ramirez  research interest is the ecology of invasive plant species and their interactions with biotic & abiotic factors within the new niche in the recently-invaded range. To learn more about his work, visit
