Doctoral candidate, Ana (Mindy) Morales-Williams recently accepted a faculty position with the University of Vermont as their newest assistant Professor in limnology at the Rubenstein School of Environmental and Natural Resources.
Morales-Williams' research expertise includes biogeochemical nutrient cycling, algal and microbial ecology, and harmful phytoplankton blooms in freshwater and coastal systems. She will join the school for the 2016-2017 academic year as a Research Affiliate and begin her tenure track position in August of 2017.
Prior to joining the Rubenstein School, Morales-Williams will participate in the University of Minnesota College of Biological Sciences' Grand Challenges in Biology Postdoctoral Program.
Morales-Williams will complete her doctoral degree this summer. She is currently working with Dr. John Downing, investigating triggers of cyanobacterial dominance in lakes.
