My lab seeks to understand the evolution of life-history strategies by integrating physiological and genetic experiments on wild populations that have been monitored for at least 30 years. Our main goals are to test hypotheses on the roles of (i) physiological plasticity in stress-response phenotypes (ii) the evolutionary dynamics of loci involved in stress responses in mediating the evolution of age-specific vital rates among populations and among species. Our models include reptiles and primates.
