My research combines comparative studies with manipulative experiments to understand the role of vertebrates in terrestrial systems and to develop effective conservation strategies in today's changing world. By understanding the ecological, evolutionary, and cultural impacts of extinction, I hope to develop better predictions of the conditions that make systems resilient or susceptible to cascading changes.
