Position
  • Graduate Assistant
Hi, my name is Jordan and I'm currently a Master's student here at Iowa State. I did my undergraduate work at Purdue University Northwest in Hammond, IN and was also a park ranger at the Indiana Dunes National Park for three years.

Right now, I'm working on a few projects in the Clark Lab. My thesis project involves generating the first molecular phylogeny for a relatively small genus of grasses, Leptoloma. After resolving the evolutionary histories of species within this genus and determining their relationship to the closely related genus Digitaria, I hope to ask broader questions about the role these grasses play ecologically.

Other projects I'm working on include the description of a new species of bamboo, as well as contributing to the development of a novel plant tissue maceration technique.
