Research in my lab has a taxonomic focus on freshwater mollusks (Unionioida), fishes, shrimps (Atyidae), and terrestrial snails. I have two major areas of research interest, I use phylogenetic methods to understand the evolution of organisms and their distributions, and population genetic/genomic tools to aid in conservation of rare species. My lab often works with species of conservation need including federal and state endangered species.
