Position
  • Professor Emeritus
I work broadly in the field of plant population and community ecology, employing approaches ranging from field studies and experimentation to computer simulation, with a strong focus on spatial interactions.  My most recent work has been in the field of invasion ecology examining the impact of invasive annuals on fire risk in desert shrublands.  I also recently developed a network based simulation model examining the impact of mammal removal strategies on bird recovery in collaboration with colleagues in New Zealand.
