I am a broadly trained population, community and disease ecologist with a passion for aquatic systems. My research combines lab- and field-based experiments with statistical, machine learning, and simulation modeling to explore how the environment, host population cycles, and climate change influence disease dynamics and environmental health outcomes. I am also interested in how changes to host-parasite processes percolate back through levels of biological organization to influence communities, ecosystems, and human industry. My research balances theoretical applications with practical considerations such as fishery management, conservation strategy, and scenario forecasting.
